Global Security Law, Datafication and Human Rights

On 19 March 2021 Dr. Gavin Sullivan was invited to present his research on datafication and global security governance to Jindal Global Law School, in Sinipat India. In this virtual lecture Dr Sullivan discussed recent global infrastructure projects of the UN Security Council related to the algorithmic analysis of travel data (or, the UN Countering Terrorist Travel program). This is a central issue of the infra-Legalities research project, with its a focus on how AI and automation are transforming the governance of cross-border movements of ‘risky’ people.  Dr. Sullivan’s lecture was hosted by Professor Sreejith, Vice-Dean of Jindal Law School and lecturer, Mohammad Nasar Nasir.
