DIMACS Computer Science and Law Workshop: Content Moderation

On 11 May 2022 Gavin Sullivan presented his infra-Legalities research on automated platform security governance at the second Workshop on the Co-development of Computer Science and Law in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The workshop was hosted by the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS) at Rutgers University and co-organised by world-leading law and computer science scholars from Yale (Joan Feigenbaum), Rutgers (Ellen Goodman, David Pennock) and MIT (David Karger). This interdisciplinary workshop focused on the problem of platform content moderation, with presentations from scholars working in law, STS, human computer interaction, media studies and computer science. It featured presentations from leading scholars working in this area – including Tarleton Gillespie (Microsoft Research, Cambridge) and Amy Bruckman (Georgia Institute of Technology).
